If you’re anything like us (and millions of others!), you’re craving those full brows that look effortless yet curated. After all, bushy is in, baby! But when you look in the mirror, you think, my brows just won’t do that. Lucky for you (and us! And everyone!), there’s a solution: brow lamination.

Brow lamination is all the buzz for being a straightforward treatment that delivers stunningly sleek results. If you’ve been curious about what brow lamination entails, you’re in the right place! We’ll break down everything you need to know, from what happens during the treatment to how to care for your fabulous new brows afterward.

What is brow lamination?

Eyebrow lamination — also sometimes called a brow sculpt or lift — is a two-step, semi-permanent procedure that involves setting the eyebrow hairs in place using a chemical solution to adjust the brow shape:

  • In the first step of the brow lamination process, a cream is applied that breaks down bonds in the eyebrow hairs so they can be molded into a new position.
  • In the second step, another cream is applied to rebuild these bonds and set the brows in their new, more uniform position.

The result: Fuller, bolder, and lifted brows that last for up to 8 weeks.

What’s the difference between brow lamination and microblading?

Wait… how is this different from microblading, you might ask? While brow lamination and microblading both aim to create fuller, more polished looking brows, the services are slightly different:

  • Microblading is a more invasive treatment that uses a tattooing tool to implant pigment into the skin to create the appearance of more eyebrow hair. The results can last several years.
  • Brow lamination is a non-invasive treatment that uses solutions to shape and set the eyebrow hairs in place. Results last 6 to 8 weeks, and it’s generally easier on the wallet than microblading.

For those who want a simpler, less permanent option to level up their brow game — brow lamination is where it’s at. That’s just one of the reasons we’re obsessed!

Benefits of brow lamination

Brow lamination has skyrocketed in popularity, and it’s easy to see why. It’s quick, painless, and super cost-effective. It also boasts these brow-mazing benefits:

  • Fuller looking brows: One of the top reasons people go for brow lamination? That coveted full-brow look. If your brows are looking a little sparse, lamination can plump them up in just one quick session.
  • Tamed and defined brows: Got unruly brow flyaways? We’ve been there. Brow lamination smooths things out, giving you more polished brows that make you feel instantly put together.
  • Customizable results: Whether you’re going for a bold, brushed-up look or a subtle, sleek enhancement, brow lamination is totally customizable. Our Cerologists tailor the treatment to your unique brow needs. No request is too big or small when it comes to perfecting those gorgeous brows.

Brow lamination works for most eyebrow hair shapes and styles, from full to sparse, and every beautiful brow shape in between.

How do I prepare for a brow lamination treatment?

Prepping for your brow lamination includes taking some basic precautions as you would with other brow services. These include avoiding:

  • The use of retinol or AHAs (alpha hydroxy acids) at least two days before your appointment. These skin-care products can sometimes react with the lamination cream, which could lead to an unwanted skin reaction.
  • Waxing, threading, or tweezing your brows immediately before your lamination appointment.
  • Prolonged sun exposure that could lead to a sunburn before your appointment.

What can I expect from the eyebrow lamination process?

If you’re new to brow lamination, here’s what to expect, from the length of time you’ll be in the chair to how long results typically last.

How long does brow lamination take?

The eyebrow lamination process typically takes less than an hour—  perfect for knocking something off your beauty to-do list over your lunch break.

How long do results from brow lamination last?

The enhanced shape of your brows after an eyebrow lamination treatment will typically last 6 weeks. With proper care, results can last as long as 8 weeks. Your Cerologist will provide aftercare advice to help you maintain your fresh brows for as long as possible.

Is brow lamination safe?

Eyebrow lamination is safe if done by a trained and certified professional. Your  Cerologist will ask relevant questions and use a skin patch test if needed to make sure the treatment and products are suitable for you. Always let your Cerologist know if you have skin conditions such as psoriasis or eczema, or are sensitive to any specific skincare products or chemicals.
